Fuel Float? Where to buy?

I need a new fuel float for my 73 TR6. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one? Or what can I use or make a new one out of?

They typically come with a new arm assembly as well, or in other words as a complete unit.

Moss Motors, Victoria British, British Parts NW and TRF all carry them.

I'd suggest replacing the gasket at the same time because by the time to float goes the gasket is typically toast as well and will allow gas to leak into the trunk. Ask me how I know that...

Part #18....

I think the part number is Ford # COAZ9202B.

Sorry for not answering your question directly, but if it were me and I was in there anyway I'd spend the extra $10 for thew whole assembly and be done with it.

But as they say, your mileage may vary!

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Gerdo-

I wish I'd known sooner. I have an extra fuel float
but I need the sending unit assembly. I'd have gladly
swapped you my float for your sending assembly. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif

I'm going to update the time machine here a bit..... I took TD's advice and ordered the float thru my very local Ford dealer. Float was $10; ordered it Sunday afternoon, picked it up tonight. Here's a picture of them side by side:

There's a touch of gas in the plastic float. The Ford float attaches very nicely to the TR6 float arm. I'll button this up next weekend when my box of TRF goodies arrives.... Thanks, Tom, for the tip!
