Hello All,

Just a quick question...should my fuel filter be filled with fuel when the engine/pump is running? I only ever see just a trickle of fule go into it. I'm wondering if my hill stalling problem has got anything to do do with this.

My filter only is about a 1/4 full as long as the float bowls are full no problem
 
wait...is the filter level??? Could it be that the up-hill problem starves the carbs only on the hill??? BTW....my fuel filter on my 74 B is almost full every time I look at it

I have sort of a bell-shaped filter on my VW engine and it sits nearly vertical but isn't "full", never had any trouble with it.
 
My 1971 B runs great and the fuel filter is never more than half full and at idle the fuel trickles into the filter each time the pump cycles.. You should hear the click from the pump..
