Frying the coil?

In my earlier thread I mentioned I'd made my entire 7000+ mile trip with the coil wired in backwards. Ignition wire to negative; coil to positive.

What would that do (wired backwards, 7000 miles high speed driving) to a 12 v ignition coil?

Thanks.
Tom

I don't think it really harms the coil. It cause plug firing problems. You can read a good bit about it ~HERE~
