Front Turn Signal Bulb

Are the front turn signal/ parking lamp bulbs double filament? The front right bulb on my car doesn't come on as a parking light but works as a signal. Is it just the bulb or should I try to track down a wiring issue?

thanks

try the bulb first - easiest and cheapest and quickest

Check the ground connections as well.

To answer your question, if it's like my bugeye, which it probably is, it's a dual-filament bulb, and can be replaced by an 1157. The single-filament used in the rear is an 1156. These are probably the most common turn-signal and brake light bulbs on the planet.

Almost certainly it's just a bad bulb. Even if you can't see a burned-out filament, it still might be bad--often the wire inside the base will break. I just replace two bulbs on my Smart that failed this way within a week of each other.

There are connectors for the harness up there as well that may need to come apart and have the "green" cleaned off of them. If I count right there are at least 3 or 4 connectors potentially that could also be at fault.
