Front Shrouds

Are there differences betwee the front shrouds for the Big Healeys? I have a '64 BJ8, Phase 1 that has sustained some damage below the grill opening at some point in it's life. When I bought the car, the grill surround was missing. I have since obtained a "new old stock" surround....problem is, the shape of the surround and the grill opening do not quite match up. I do not believe that the shroud is original to the car. Underneath the dash, the metal is red and my car is Healey blue (confirmed via the BMIHT birth certificate). Ultimately, the decison will be to repair or replace.

Be sure you got the one for a BJ8. There is a rain gutter looking top on the BJ8.(extra flat trim behind a rolled edge). The other has a rounded front edge. They look very simular until you see them side by side. I am not sure that they are not interchangeble. Mine is a phase 1 and it fits nicely.

According to the Body Service Parts List, there are only 1 grille and surround for BJ8s. I'm not surprised that the NOS grille does not fit, it doesn't take much banging or bumping to get the aluminum top shroud out of shape.

There are multiple lower cowl bottoms, the PH I BJ8 has one signal lamp on each side the PH II BJ8s have two lamps on each side; one marker and one signal.
