Front End Rebuild

I have just rebuilt the front suspension on my tr6 new ball joints, springs & bushings from Goodparts. My question is the spindles will not move back & forth w/o much force is this normal? The frame is bare & sitting on jack stands so their is no weight on it. Have I done something wrong?

It is perfectly normal. With all the weight off of the road wheels, you'll have a hard time turning the front wheels due to the front springs being in their fully extended position. This puts a big load on the lower trunions and they will appear to be binding. Not so. Once you put the wheels back on and get some weight back on them (remove the jack stands), the suspension will operate properly. I went thru the same thing during my frame off on my 70 TR-6. No worries!
