OK gents:

I'd like to make a quick decision here about what tube dampers to use. Hopefully, some racers and regular street cars will weigh in...

I know most people who run tube dampers in the front use Monroe 5877. NAPA online also cross-lists list KYB PN KG4192. Has anyone tried these? They are significantly more expensive, but I have a source that will get them for the same price as the Monroe dampers.

I'd like to sort this ASAP, so any help is appreciated.

Don't know about on Spridgets,.. but

Way back when, I had a VW Rabbit Convertible (before they called them cabriolets). I put KYBs on the front and was extremely satisfied. the KYB shocks cost more and were worth every penny. (Hey, now that I think about it, I sold that car to get "the red thing")
 
Hi Chris,

From what I've read on this forum the monroe shock you mentioned is the one people recommend for the rear suspension. Some people run that shock front and rear but it seems to me that most of the guys around here would advise adjustable dampers from Peter c over tube shocks for your front suspension.

this subject is debated here quite often...
