Front brake line locating brackets [disc].

I think I need a set but I'm not sure. Do I need them if I'm using the SS/teflon lines? I have one, but I do not know what it came off of and it is much shorter than the ones on my '70 midget.

So do I need them, and if I do, does someone have a pair they can sell me?

Thanks

Weird!!! I was just over at the MGBBS and there was the exact same question over there. Someone is saying they aren't needed as long as the bolt length is shortened.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, Trevor...

On a disc brake car there is a bracket that is held on by the same bolts that hold the caliper on. This bracket has a notch in it that helps locate the brake hose such that it does not rub. (I guess that is the function.) Moss and VB do not show it in their catalogs.

Ah, just got through putting those on my newly rebuilt front suspension..I'd think they would be needed with OE hoses - can't say about SS/teflon.

Just a shot in the dark but I didnt think they stopped anything from rubbing more so I thought they keep the hose from spinning loose when you turn the wheel and put some tensions on the hose. (Could be wrong?) I may even have a set you can have for free if you'd like.

Ah ... now that makes sense Scott. I guess that should be obvious with that banjo fitting. I guess I should fit a set. I'll send you a private message.
