Got no responses to my post last night. Please help as I have time to work on the car today. Does the lower A frame pivots on the front of a TR4A IRS mount to the front holes or the back holes?
I just went out and checked my 66 4A for you. It's a solid axle but the front suspension is the same as the IRS.
The lower fulcrum mount is attached through the front front holes. btw- I also did the double stud TR6 bracket changeout when I rebuilt the suspension and welded in the strengthening gussets.
Peter Thanks that helps out alot. After I got the frame back from have the reinforcing done I realized I couldn't remember so called TRF where I got the reinforcing parts from. He told me it was the rear but when I try to put the brackets in they won't go because they rub against the brace and I realized that the head of the pivot bolt would make it worse. Got all sorts of bad thoughts going thru my head and had me muttering to myself. But if the front hole is the right location then I should be OK because the brace is lower there on the rear one and there is not a front brace on the front pivot bracket.
Peter - Just noticed your cars have the HVDA conversion. I am going frame up so now is the time for me to do it if I want to. Give me your thoughts if you would on the conversion. I was thinking of the Eaglegate because it is a little less and uses more existing parts makeing it simpler(?) maybe not. But I am interested in what your experience has been. Thanks
