Had a strange call the nite before last. A couple of hippies caught in a time warp were traveling coast-to-coast when their Mercedes broke down. They started out from Va. went to Calif and were on their way back when their 75 240D crapped out. Had AAA towing so they got towed off I-40 in Tucumcari NM to my shop in Clovis...about 90 miles. Come to find out they run on Veggie oil...finally got it running...still has a problem or two...but now my shop smells like a McDonalds...Had the urge to eat all day. This poor car is loaded down with veggie oil and crystals?? They go all over collecting them and then sell them on the east coast...some are huge, two feet long and about 10-12 inches around. Why can't I stick with VWs and English cars??
