Spent today in the garage pulling out all of the new interior I've spent the last few months installing. Tomorrow we will pull the motor, wiring harness, everything.
What we hope to have left is a 1980 shell and although I have been disappointed in its condition, we have done quite a bit of work and I really hate to take it to the scrap heap. Its not in that bad of shape. It needs a new pan on the passenger side where DPO patched and welded a piece of sheet metal on it. Driver side isn't too bad. Trunk is also passable, but has small pin holes of rust in one corner.
Anyway, if there is anyone out there who would like a 1980 shell all you need to do is pick it up and its yours.
I figured I'd offer it up to you guys, if no one wants it I'm taking it down for scrap.

Before you take it to the scraper...if they're good, pull the doors, hood, trunk lid, & front fenders as well as windshield assembly & dash/console...Zack will know how to sell them on ebay.

Also handy to save hinges, bolts, slam panel, door mechanisms, front crossmember, etc....

I would remove anything and everything possible

Already done. I now have a B in a box (in my dining room) I have removed everything that I could unbolt, unscrew or pry off. I just put new seals, brake lines etc on the 80 so of course I took all of that plus.
I can't get the ignition off. Is there some trick I don't know about or do I have to drill it out?
I'm even contemplating removing the steering column.

The windshield is cracked (like the other three I have under the house)but it has a new seal so I removed it and while the new car's off at paint, I will replace the seal on the windshield.

I'm swapping doors in the hopes they line up and are straight. That's because I really don't know how to remove and reinstall the windows and all the hardware. (Of course that hasn't stopped me before) I have the hood and trunk lid, a spare hood and trunk lid, and it comes with one too...so I'll pick the best of the three and offer the other two up.

It looks like I will have two steering wheels, a steering cowl and a glove box and gauges, but no dash. I also will have a spare set of seats, but they are dry rotted so will need to be redone. Frames seem solid though.

I hope to have the new shell painted by the end of February and home for reassembly. This would give me March and April (including a week of vacation on Spring Break) to reassemble and see if I can actually get it out of my garage on its own power.

And speaking of paint, I have a website with the British color codes, but do you have to stick with that or is it pretty much whatever you fancy? I mean, it's not ever gonna be a concourse car or anything, just a fun, nice looking, dependable daily driver.

The leftovers I will drag over to Lake Corvalis for the annual Swap meet. What's left goes on e-bay and after that to the junk yard. I will periodically list the items I have so if anyone needs something, they can ask.

I have received several items from you guys for my midget and my B and I would like to pass on the generosity if I can, so stay tuned and I'll list the spare parts as I figure out what I have.

Yes...pull the steering column...EVERYTHING bolted to the shell is a possible candidate for saving.

Paint the car as you fancy...no real reason to stick to the Abingdon colours unless you're a stickler for originality.
