hmm - don't know about you guys, but each record I find asks me to create an Ancestry account before I can view the record.
 
Yeah, Ancestry is bad that way. Fortunately not as bad as Classmates
 
I don't think much of their data base as I could not find my Dad or my uncle (KIA) even though I correctly filled in all the blanks.
 
If you do sign up for the promo, there's no credit card or anything like that needed.

The records appear to be mostly draft documents, enlistment records, burial records and muster rolls for Navy and Marine Corps.
 
If you're looking for U.S. Army records from WWI/WWII and I think later, your basically out of luck. Pretty much all of them were lost in a fire in the 70's.
