TR4/4A Frame upgrade

I'm in process of removing the body from the frame on my 67 TR4a IRS and I've seen weld in frame stiffener kits on eBay. Once the frame is stripped what should I do to improve its rigidity? My previous 67 TR4a was a solid axle and I loved that car, but not so much the 72 TR6 I bought to replace it in 72.
Thanks, Rut

Since you are talking about loving your solid axle 4A and your TR6 not so much in the same post as you are talking about frame stiffening I am curious, are you saying you liked the 4A because the frame felt stiffer, or is that just sort of a side comment?. The frames are basically the same on both cars, all else being equal (no accident or rust damage, for example) they should have similar stiffness, though, if anything the 4A would probably feel a little less rigid, with the frame taking up some of the flex the stiffer suspension lacks. I remember I could see the door gaps between the back of the door and rear fender open and close on my old solid axle 4A as I went over bumps (I still loved the car). Is this the kit you were talking about? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Triumph-TR...ash=item33ad27437e:g:OJMAAOSw8-tWUkk1&vxp=mtr Don't have any experience with them, but it appears to be designed to address potential issues in a known area of weekness. There is a front suspension mount kit too, but the TR6s are better in that area than the 4As and TR250s, they already have some of the gussets in the general kit, but I am not sure if they have all of them.

The TR4a solid axle felt much more planted and agile than my TR6 and I attribute that to 2 things...the solid rear axle and the perceived lighteness of the car. The 4a was just more toss able and I feel like a little stiffer frame may add to this feeling. What are the known improvements I can make to the 4a IRS frame while I'm rebuilding it?
Thanks again, Rut
