Found 100 6

Hello, I am Dennis, from the MG forum. Found a 100-6, sitting in some one's yard. It has been there for at least 10 years, sinking in the mud, according to some people I met. The interior is gone, as is windscreen. Passenger side front fendser and part of center section is bashed in. Considering recent price jumps, is this car worth buying to restore or for parting out? What is fair value for a poor abondoned Healey? Thanks Dennis

Hi Dennis,
You need to have someone with Healey restoring experience look at the car. In all probability, it could require $15,000 in rust repairs alone. Plus more for crash damage. If you can do all of your own welding & sheetmetal work It might reduce to $5,000 plus. With all of the other work required, you could easily have $45,000 in the project, & might not break even on the investment. I'm guessing that it is a parts car only, & maybe worth $500 or so.

Rust bucket Healeys have been going on eBay for between 2000 and 5000. If you can get it for less, there probablly is some money in it.

If you do, let me know, my 100-6 is missing a few of the early BN4 parts.

Also, if you can get the car number, please drop a note to Rudy Streng CAWS52803@aol.com as he maintains the 100-6 Registry and is trying to find out the location of all of the 100-6's.

Thanks
Patton
