Fouled Plug

After I warm up my 1970 "B" and the choke is in , the car feels like it is pulling a load. I have narrowed it down to the second plug from the front. All the other plugs are the same color (brownish) except for the one ,It is black not wet, If I hit it with a wire brush and put it back in, the car now is peppy as heck, the load is gone. I can drive all day on and off and is fine but if I need the choke (cold engine) I have the same problem.Any help be appreciated.
Thanks
Bob

Don't choke as much? With the warmer weather, you may only need half choke or less.

And don't clean spark plugs with a wire brush. The bristles leave a thin film of conductive metal on the ceramic cone which can shorten the time it takes for the plug to stop working. Sandblast the plugs if you can. You can also consider running a slightly hotter plug if you aren't having any problems with pinging.

Bob, just to toss something else out, next time try swapping the plugs around and see if it's #2 cylinder specific, or is the fault of the plug itself. You could also do a quick check of the resistance of #2 plug wire and see if it is substantially higher than the rest. A high resistance in the wire could be the cause of a single plug fouling.

Agreed. Odd for one plug/cylinder to appear to be running "fat." Plugwire or cap would be my first suspicion.

Bob - I want to ask a dumb question: what ignition setup are you running? To include the coil?

took the car out this am and used very little choke and the problem appears to be gone . thanks-so much

But...but.... What WAS it?!?!

I did not pull the choke all the way out just a little with the cold engine , It did not cause the plug to get fouled

I'm with Doc, not sure I beleive that solves the problem?

I pulled the choke out all the way this am and after warmed up problem came back. It appears to much choke is fouling one plug will check to see if plug or wire is problem but for now a little choke and problem not there thanks again.

Try changing (swaping plug and wire) with another. Should kind of cut down the options.
