Forward Tilt Bonnet and Wiring

I'm trying to plan a few weeks ahead here as I complete a welding project and get back to putting my Forward Tilt Bugeye Bonnet on Bugsy my '68 Sprite. One of the nice things I like about the forward tilt bonnet is two bolts take it all off for maintenance / engine access. What are folks using to connect the wire harness to the bonnet to make it:

1) removable with some sort of quick disconnect, need at least a 6 wire plug or more likely 8 wire plug, for headlights, turn signals, and possibly horn once I get it all put back together.

2) How is wiring harness being supported when Bonnet is raised.

3) I was thinking about some sort of coiled cord to go between wire harness to Bugeye bonnet but not sure if I can find something large enough to carry headlight current.

Can anyone who has gone down this road already provide some ideas / pics. Thanks

Jim,

I use waterproof trailer plugs (one 6 and one 4). I just found a place with a nice 8 wire plug and will be changing soon. If you cut both sides to the correct length, the harness is self-supporting and not an issue. You re-route the harness down onto the right fender well and below the fresh air intake flange on the right side of the radiator to meet a plug from the bonnet. If the forward hinge is done right, then there are NO bolts to remove to remove the bonnet. You just pull the plugs, unclip the limit cables and lift it off. Solo job easy as pie.
I'm at work now but I'll take a few pics and post them to you tonight. It makes life so much easier for chronic engine-pullers like me.

I just ran mine up the fender to the harness connections past the fuse box towards the fire wall. I figure it should be an easy disconnect and how many times am I going to be removing the hood? Hopefully not that that many!

I used a rod with 2 hitch pins instead of 2 bolts, the bonnet pivots on the rod, pull a pin, slide out the rod and it's off.
I used the plug from an old 68 on Signal switch for the bonnet harness. But a trailer plug will work too.
For the forward tilt brackets, I disassembled the original scissors type hinges and made a couple brackets out of them.
I do not have any specs, it was sort of cut, grind, fit and figit until I was happy.

TRailer Harness it will be. Wire heavy enough for Amperage and Voltage. I was trying to overcomplicate the solution. Tractor supply right sdown the street has a verity of shapes and sizes I can adapt.

Front tilt backets already built and on the bonnet. Blueprint on Gerard's Web Page. Took a little time to build with hacksaw, drill press, and a file. Neded to open up bolt holes on bonnet to custom fit but no big deal. Long bolt with a hex nut and lock washer. No limit straps needed. On and off in five minutes as well. Thanks Team.

And what is the link Jim?
