If the sales price is as indicated, Ford is losing it's behind in the deal. It's obviously tough out there for today's big auto manufacturers!

Today's Wall Street Journal says that Ford will take a considerable financial loss in the Jaguar/Land Rover sale. A report last year estimated that a combined sale of Jag and Land Rover would result in a loss of $3.75 BILLION.

That's a lot of moolah, as they say in India! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonod.gif

Makes you wonder what the auto manufacuring landscape will resemble in the future. Very different from today, I expect.

Is that thing still going on? I thought it was pretty much over with.....but, Ford is going to sell Jaguar/Land Rover to somebody-

All the news seems to point towards Tata as the winning bidder. I think it's a good move for Ford, even with the loss of money. While I'm glad they kept Jaguar and Land Rover going over the last few years, they've cost Ford dearly. I'm a Ford fan, and want to see them survive.

Ironic that former British Colony India is now in a position to buy one of Britian's few remaining auto brands.

Well, there's 1 less car for Jerri to consider in her quest for a new car!! Now, we're back to just Mercedes!
