Ford Anglia for sale

I just got home from a walk - spotted a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E for sale outside an apartment building. It is black with grey interior and seems to be in decent shape for a 48 year old car. I have seen it driving around a few times in the last couple of years, so it certainly runs! The for sale sign had a price scribbled out and now just says "BO" - no idea what these go for.

I wrote down the seller's phone number so let me know if you are interested and I will pass the number along. Took a picture with my cellphone which I will happily send on if you let me know your number (I know I can probably get the picture out of my phone and onto a computer, but I don't know how!).

I am not the seller, nor do I know him (or her) - just thought someone might be interested.

Cheers
Alistair

PS- it is in Central New Jersey

I had one of these about 20 years ago. PO had put a Weber carb on it - it seemed like a rocket ship compared to the Herald and the Beetle that were it's housemates.

5 of us used to commute to University (20 miles ew) in it. Oh to be young, stupid and most of all ~slim~ again...

Check your PMs.

Thnx

Called him.
A little too pricey for me and not exactly what I want anyway.
I'll wait for now and see if anything else appears...if anyone else is interested, the fellow wants $5000 pretty firmly.
Might be decent if you really *want* one of these.

I'm really looking for a "fixer-upper", pre-'59 so it can be VSCCA legal and I'd prefer an A30, A35 or older-style Anglia/Prefect.

My wife's aunt had a 1200 Anglia that she 'forgot' to put oil in.
I replaced the motor with the nearest to hand - a 1500 Cortina lump with low milage from a friend, whose car had been totalled in an accident.
I never told her it was a bigger engine, and it looked just the same, but as long as she had it she remarked what a wizard I was in making her car go so much better!
Dear Aunty Ethel.....

It's amazing what some people think they're worth.
There was an excellent '62 on eBay last week.It was up
to $3000 last time I looked.
Nial - 1960 was the first model we got here (for the
105E).I'd be curious to see what the serial number is on
the one in NJ.Mine's 126316.It's also a 1960.

That's great, Roger!

I know of one that had a Lotus T/C 1600 shoe-horned into it.

The Harry Potter movies kinda resurrected the Anglia price structure, methinks.

I hate the "Harry Potter" reference -
-although it has helped to save a lot of Anglias!

How about this then?
I'll find the 5k he wants just as soon as he gets it to fly reliably. Sound fair?

Doug, I certianly understand how you'd get frustrated by that refrence. But think about that next generation that will have that little "link" to classic british cars. And all the oppertunities it could open up.
My daughter and I are reading the Harry Potter series right now. They really are good stories. lots of fun, and very imaginative.
I loved the parts about the Anglia (it was lots better in the books)

I'm thinking about finally working on
the Anglia.Have a lead on 2 Zetec engines.
Trying to think out what I'm getting into
here.
