For those with a 6 and a Monza exhaust

If you have this combination then I'd really appreciate it if you could have a look underneath at the back to see if it's routed inside the frame rails.

I was trying to add a rear swaybar this afternoon. The DPO has added a Monza (which I HATE /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif) and it's mounted so the two intermediate silencer boxes come out below the frame rails, right in line with where the swaybar mounts want to be.

There isn't enough movement on the mounts (It's hardmounted not on hangers) to get it inside, so I'm stuck right now. Before I take it into a shop, I'd like to know if I'm going to be able to get it pulled up, or if I need to order the Falcon.

TIA, Alan

I HAD the Monza on the TR250 until I got tired of waking the neighbors in the morning when I took the car to work. It did fit between the frame rails and I had, and still have, a 3/4" sway bar on the rear and it didn't interfere in any way with the exhaust. I remember I had to fabricate a couple of brackets so the rubber straps could be used to support what passes for mufflers. But, I just thought, the TR250 uses a single pipe that splits into two after passing through the cruciform plates. I don't see how mine could have been spread out any wider. I hope this helps.

I've got the Monza system and an ADDCO rear sway bar. The fit is close, but the sway bar doesn't touch the pipes. Pipes do go inside the frame rails, yes. No clearance issues. Personally, I like my monza system just fine. Yeah, it's louder than stock, but my TR6 is much quieter than my 5.0 mustang that I drive every day. If you don't like the Monza system, get the falcon and quit your puking!

Alan, first off, I do not have a rear sway bar on my TR6 so addressing the interference problem is something I cannot do for you. But beware, the Falcon Sport System (duals) has 2 HUGE mufflers that hang really low in the back and are a real challenge to install. I resorted to rigid mounting the whole system from the tranny back with additional cross braces (2) and adding stainless flex pipes between the tranny and headers. A thought would be to order only the front four pipes of the Falcon system and add much small, albeit probably louder, stainless mufflers, like maybe custom offset box mufflers. (Stainless Specialties in Florida) I would take pictures of my setup for you but my car is completely hidden with my wife's potted plants and outdoor furniture from hurricane Katrina!

I meant the ss replacement for the regular system manufactured by Falcon - VB#6-0024, not the sports system. I know I'm getting old because right now it's too loud...

Well, loud by itself doesn't really have everything to do with it. There's loud that sounds good and there's loud that sounds like crap. I've run Mustangs and Chevys with straight through exhausts that have sounded great. Trust me, a well tuned Ford 351 Cleveland running 10.5 compression on straight pipes, no mufflers, is freakin LOUD! However, a beat on 4 cylinder Honda on straight pipes is still loud, but it sounds like junk.

Personally, I hate the Monza system, sounds cheap to me, very tinny. It was on my car when I bought it and I just haven't considered doing a new system yet, other more important things to do first. I don't think the Monza systems are regarded as being fantastic quality and the mufflers seem to leave a lot to be desired sound wise. That and they seem to rust up in a heartbeat, mine looks like heck thats for sure, the chrome on the tips rusts and pits very easily. I was toying with eventually doing a sport system from one of the usual vendors but I'll probably end up doing a custom system using flowmaster mini turbos or something like that. The mini turbos are roughly the same dimension as the cans that come with the Monza system but they'll use 2 or 2.25 inch pipes all the way through, all stainless of course. Only thing that worries me is fitting that through the cruciform plates, it'll probably have to go through as a single pipe (if it'll fit at all) and have the split come after the exit. Whatever though, plenty of people seem to like the Monza sound so to each his own. For the handful of times a year I start my car early in the morning I'm not to concerned with it being loud.

No, skikir, I'm 37, not 16 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif. The puke comment had to do with alana's little vomiting smiley face /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif. That's all. It's fine to voice your opinion about things on here. No problem as far as I am concerned. If you don't like the Monza exhaust then that's okay too. I just happen to like mine pretty well. My point was that if you don't like what you've got, get something else rather than bashing (with the puking smiley /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif) an exhaust system that so many of us have on our cars. Also, it seemed odd to me for alana to ask for someone's assistance and to insult their car's exhaust set up at the same time. Not a good way to get much positive feedback if you ask me.

So you like the Monza. BFD. So what.
I have it. I hate it. It came with the car. So what.

My opinion differs from your opinion. Oooh! Grow up and deal with that fact. You may be 37 but you are acting like you are 16.

And by the way since you chose to drag me into this, I STILL think it's a POS. One step up from a coffee can imo. You seem to be the only one defending it that I've seen. Perhaps you should get another one and add it to your Mustang, then you'll have two and can be twice as happy. Or better yet have a few of the 'so many happy owners' that you quote chime in. If they are in the majority and are so offended by my not liking a piece of metal then I'll issue a public apology, how about that.

I'm going to stop now before I really get rude.

Geez...... And I'm acting like a 16 year old?

Good luck with your sway bar installation, Alan. Go with the Falcon exhaust over the Monza. I just know you'll love it.
