For those of you who have never had the pleasure of owning a British car, but want to know what it's like:

Next really big rainstorm, wait until dark, roll down all windows, leave off lights & heater & wipers and go for a drive. Stop at every intersection and throw out a twenty dollar bill. It's not exactly the same, but it's real close.
 
Very reminiscent of Ted Heath's famous quote about yachting - "Like standing in a cold shower tearing up five pound notes"

For those who don't know (or care) - Edward (Ted) Heath was the British Prime Minister from 1970-74. He was a keen yachtsman, and since he presided over the country at the time that my Triumph was built obviously had either a sense of humour or keen insight...
 
But you haven't mentioned the 1/2 hour (minimum) when it mysteriously stops.

A look (and fool around with) at everything under the hood does no good.

And then the gremlin magically goes away and its perfect again...

until the next unpredictable time....

like the old Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times..."

May you drive an interesting car....
