ACK! NASTY!!!! EWWWWWW!!! boy... I'm glad I don't travel much... and stay in hotels even less frequently!

Wow, I’ve stayed at that Embassy Suites in Alpharetta dozens of times!

That said there’s nothing new here for us regular "travel Ninjas" as we’re all pretty much aware of the risks and usually take measures to avoid endangering our health. But this is an important thing for the infrequent traveler to know.

Some of the things I always try to do is use the disposable cups whenever possible and if not I always washout the glasses, coffee mugs before I use them..

Likewise I inspect the room and the bed when I first check in and have on occasion had house keeping replace the linen and the towels if I didn’t feel comfortable. Even then I sleep in lounge pants & a t-shirt to avoid any “cooties” left in the beds by previous guests.

Just think about what is on the bed spread or under the bed sheet or pillow. Don't even think about what is on the floor. Then there are restaurants.....

Agreed! That’s why I almost always toss the comforter on the floor in the corner & use the spare blanket folded up in the closet.

Again I ain’t afraid of calling the front desk to have house keeping bring another blanket if I feel uncomfortable.

and how often do you think the bed spreads are laundered, when I go into a hotel room the first thing I do is take off the spread.

I was contemplating selling my times share condo, now that I have seen this, i`v pretty much made up my mind it`s going to the auction block. I`m sure that if hotels are not clean, how clean can a timeshare condo be?
IF I ever use it again i`ll be sure to take plenty of lysol. My own bedding and eating/cooking utensils along with my own personal bathroom supplys.
NO wonder I like the Motorhome much better anyway.

A public service for sure.
Thanks Aweman- I forwarded the video to a
friend who is about to open a Comfort Inn
here on the island.

I'm in a hotle in Lakewood, WA right now...no glass glasses in room...just those little prepackaged throwaway cups!

Also, think where the fingers that previously operated the TV remote have been.

I travel a lot and it's no fun at all.

I travel frequently for work; mostly international Last six months included Singapore, London, Barcelona, Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Shanghai and Munich.

First thing I do *anywhere* is drop the TV remote into a ziplock freezer bag.
I bring my own bathroom cup and sometimes, depending on where I am, my own bottled water.

Just returned from China; luckily the hotel water was safe. You need to be *really* careful what you eat/drink if you are not in a mainstream area of China. The locals GI tracts have adjusted to the things in the water; but most travelers will have, umm, "issues". I also carry Cipro just in case things get out of hand. FWIW, it's usually an ice cube that does people in - they forget it's just frozen icky water.

scott, a zip lock freezer bag? i like that one! when i was flying we would bring enough bottled water to keep the three crew member hydrated for a week, while staying in a hotel in paris i lifted the phone to spray it with a disinfectant someone had left 12 one hundred dollar u.s. bills under it needless to say it was a gay pareee week for me, it pays to clean up. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif
