Foot Rest

I have been putting some miles on the TR4 this summer; about seven trips of 175 to 200 miles per plus the usual runs to country bars and restaurants. I would have made more but July was just stupid hot around here. Left leg needs some support so I built a foot rest out of aluminum sign material (not stolen), I bent the edges on the long side for strength and bolted it to the dimmer switch mount. Moved the dimmer switch up and covered the aluminum with skid tape, should last longer than paint. It does not interfere with the clutch pedal operation, the rest is not any closer pedal than the switch was originally; the photo is a little deceptive.

The 69 TR6 had a foot rest there. I don't know when or if it was discontinued but I dont see it in the TRF spare parts catalog. I know for a fact it was factory for that year. I took it out of the 69 I have in pieces and installed it in my 73 that didn't have one. Phil

Nice work. I just used the lower half of a plastic (tube-like) M&Ms container. Cut it about 2" long and jammed it over the dipper switch to make a foot rest for daytime driving -- your way is certainly much more elegant.
