Great to hear everyone is OK. I heard about this on the news last night and the reports were 19 dead. Knew a bunch a ya'll were near there. Phew.

I was kinda shocked by the death toll. That was worse than any of the major hurricanes we have had in recent years!!

This event demonstrated that it is the tornadic activity that is so devastating. I think this must be true even for the damage caused during hurricanes!! High wind flattens things, while "spinning" wind RIPS it up!!
 
Hey Mike-

I design for extreme wind, CAT 5
hurricanes with safety margins of 2X.
That's 240 MPH and concrete structures.

Tornados can easily top 300 MPH at the
wind wall. Most wooden houses are lucky
if they can withstand 90 MPH.

Tornados are killers. Period.
