Floor pans

Hi all.
I posted a few moons ago about replacing floor pans. I have it just about done except for the patch where the Moss pans don't fit. I have to cut a section to piece in between the pans under the drive shaft.
I see two options here:
1) Cut a piece to fit and butt weld the seam.
2) Bridge the gap with a piece and spot weld it to the pans.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Any opinions on which would be the stronger weld?

Thanks in advance ,

John

thanks JB.

I hadn't seen that site in a while. It reminds me I should have pulled the tub off when I started this project about a year ago. Not the floor pans but the whole restore. I wanted to drive the sprite as much as I could so I didn't strip it.
In retrospect it was probably a mistake.

Its hard to tell from the pictures how they handled the middle. Maybe their welding is that good!

That is an awesome documentary on panel replacement. I had to add that one to the midget bible that I started a few weeks back. I like the way they supported the tub without buying a bunch of expensive equipment. Every success story is an inspiration.

i liked the upside down set up, nice flat floor helps there. And the work orders, complete with Greasy fingerprints.....priceless
