Float needle jets leaking!

I took the car (64 BJ8) out for a ride and noticed that it was leaking gas and determined it was the front carb. I cleaned the needle and seat and it seemed OK. Took it out for a second ride and the rear carb started leaking gas! What is the opinion of the group about gross jets vs. standard jets. I hear a lot of pros and cons about both. Do you think I should replace the needle and seats? Thanks and have a good day!

Some folks prefer the Viton tipped needles, some prefer the Grose Jet valves. Simple as that.

John,
I experienced fuel leaking from the float bowl overflows a few times, probably from gas tank rust. When I finally installed a new tank, I also switched to the grosse jets. they seem to work fine, but the others probably would have as well when the rust problem was corrected.

I had the same problem with already new (standard) valves and was not very confident to solve the problem when I ordered the grose valves - but had no better idea.

What can I say now: from the day I put them in the problem with the overrunning curburetters is gone.

I had Grose ones and they leaked. I now have the viton-tipped standard ones and they have been fine. I also cleaned out and coated the tank interior and have a fuel filter.

is the jet leaking or the needle and seat? I just ordered new jets from Joe Curto because my jets are leaking.Great service but for some reason they sent three of them.
