I had a real melt down the other day. Driving around town I smelled smoke, hurried back home and found the wiring going to the stop brake light switch along with the wire going to the relay from the stop switch, just fried. Not sure why it took so long for the fuse to blow but I guess 35 and 50 amp fuses are pretty much bullet proof. I've spent the entire day trying to determine the source of this little problem and I keep coming back to the flasher relay (that is the big one not the little guy. However when I jump, as the manual states, number 1 to 2/3 and 6/7, the little flasher works and turns on the appropriate lamp. I'm wondering if the part of the relay that attached to the stop light switch could possibly be the problem, I think that's terminal number 5. Any thoughts or has anyone else had a similar meltdown? mac
