Flamethrower coil install

I just put an Ignitor in my '78 Spit and am trying to put in a 3.0 ohm flamethrower coil. The instructions say to take the resister out of the system and that is my problem. As one end is already unhooked at the distributor, the only thing I can see to do is to unhook the resister wire at the starter relay. Is this the right way to do the job?

The ballast resistor wire doesn't connect to the distributor.
Normally it supplies voltage to the coil to keep the engine running once the engine starts. If you disconnect the ballast wire you'll have to arrange some other source of voltage that supplies 12 volts when the ignition key is in the "ON" position

Here's a good explanation of the ballast resistor wire and simple instructions on how to by-pass it. Since I don't know the Spitfire I hope the instructions are applicable...

I just copied this from the instructions:
As for the modifications required to switch from a ballast coil to a non-ballast coil, it couldn't be simpler - just run a wire from the most convenient white wire you can find (probably at the fuse box), directly to the + terminal of the coil (of course, all the rules of good wiring practice should be used). No need to remove the resistance wire, because it will now be constantly bypassed, just as it was before when cranking. This will work with any model Triumph.
