Does anyone on this forum own or have you seen one of these rare options available for the sidescreen TR's. Except for the photo in Bill Piggot's book, I've never actually seen one. It would be nice to have one or to reproduce one, not so much for luggage as much as a convenient place to store the spares and other emergency supplies. If you have any information regarding the dimensions and construction/materials I would be grateful to hear from you.

Cheers,

Frank

I have seen one; there is a fellow in the local club that found an original and duplicated it for his restoration. Unfortunately that's not much help, as I can't think of his name offhand. However, I'll put some feelers out and see if I can find some contact info.

But honestly, I think you'll be disappointed if you try to use it. It loses a significant amount of trunk space, because it's walls are flat but the car is not; plus it has to fit through the opening. As I recall, it also cannot be opened easily while still in the trunk.

I too have seen one, possibly the one Randall mentions as this was when I was in Orange County.

I'm thinking his name was Dick ?????. I think he used to do the regalia for TRSC.

I agree, a novelty but I can get a lot more in the boot and better organized too by keeping things in smaller bags & containers.
