In Calgary on Oct 16 for a wedding and was caught on photo radar doing 93 kph in an 80 and in a rental car so it took almost 7 weeks to process. Did I mention I hate Calgary. Just kidding Sherlock. :cryin:
 
I dispise photo law enforcement.

Speed traps, stop lights....all revenue enhancers.
 
Traffic cams were deemed unconstitutipnal in MS. They deny you due process.

Don't know how y'alls rules read. I'd fight it. Say it was a groomsmen at the wheel. :driving: :jester:
 
Sorry Willie... On behalf of all Calgarians who also disagree with traffic cameras, not because they don't want speeding tickets but because they don't really help curb speeding at all...

I've never had one before myself but I think they can be fought, a lot harder though if you don't live here...
 
Well heck, one ticket every 50 years does not make for a bad driving record. I'd just pay it and let it go at that. I don't know if your insurance rate goes up like ours but in the whole scheme of life some things aren't worth getting too upset about. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Actually with the photo radar (ie un-manned), you just pay the cost of the ticket, it doesn't add demerit points to your license, since they can't prove who was driving as compared to when a police officer pulls you over and sees who is driving...
 
What's a ticket like that worth? Just north of Cayucos California Highway One narrows from a four lane freeway [65mph] to a two lane highway [55mph]. Three of my friends have gotten tickets in the last two weeks For 70 in a 55. $369.
 
if it had been a cop in a marked or even unmarked car I would probably have spotted it but a van sitting on the shoulder(by the looks of the pic)on 16th ave(trans canada hwy). Trouble is with it being a rental car Avis already paid it and took it off my credit card and tacked on a $30 service fee :madder:
 
Elrey, $86. However my bil who was there also got dinged for 17kph over and it cost him $113 +$30 from Avis
 
That's still less than half what they'd squeeze outta you here. It just don't pay to speed, and that's a crime.

What bothers me Sherlock is that this was in the first 3 days, I came back from Canmore a week later so who knows there may be another although I hope not :angel:
 
Traffic Cameras have been banned in Los Angeles County and any that were installed have now been removed. We have a lot of stupid laws in general here, but being a car nut is actually very easy compared to many places.
