For as popular as they were and as reasonable as they are to maintain you hardly ever see 1st gen RX-7's any more.

Well, I see one every day in my garage. But that doesn't count. And even it isn't seen on the street all that often.

Anyway, I saw one in the parking lot of a supermarket today, a tan (w/red interior) GSL-SE (bigger motor, 4w discs, LSD rear) in nice shape but obviously a driver.

The guy pulled out as I left too, so I got to see and hear it run. Sounded good.

I almost bought one a couple years ago, but didn't have the space at the time. I wonder where it is now.....

I bought one in 84 and traded for the next gen in 88. The car had 88k+ miles on it and ran great. Never had a problem with the car except for ones generated by the dealership. It was a great little sports car, comfortable and relatively good on gas. Only ones I see now are on the track and even there the numbers are few.

spotted one today on the 401 eastbound at Kitchener, red with NY plates
