Firing order

64 Sprite: I drained the tank/cleaned the plugs, and now it won't start.
I know the firing order is 1342; and the dizzy turns CCW. But where is the #1 wire? Upper right on the cap? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

It should be upper right but you never know what someone might have done. Put your thumb over #1 sparkplug hole & feel for compression, as you approach #1 firing, as verified by compression & the timing pointer on the crankshaft, see where the rotor is pointing.

Bill, Dave is correct. If you scroll down the forum list, you'll find we Sprite guys get our very own playpen. Spridgets.

Thanks for the help... I'll be back

The car has been sitting a while. Brakes and carbs may need attention, but for now I need to get it to start.
