Fire extinguisher mounting

I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to have a small fire extinguisher in my car. I don't want it to be inaccesible but I don't want it to be in the way for a passenger or myself. Any thoughts on where and how to mount one?
 
for a 62 you have a very good place for it on the rear shelf, on the driver's side. Either upright or laying down, depending on the size. That way it is easy to get in a hurry, which fires are usually.

Lay it on the floor in front of the pasanger seat and behind the stifner. Out of the way and yet real handy.

I know I have had one there for at least a total of 30 years.
 
I hadn't thought about behind the seats. I should be able to come up with a quick release bracket mounted on the support leg of my roll bar.
