I know, I know, they are far later than I said they'd be, but finally got a free hour this evening just before the sun went down so I got some pics done. A few are fuzzy as the light was getting really poor, but you can tell what they are. Enjoy!!
BTW, I took about 40 pics before realising that I can only upload 5 so if anyone wants to see the others drop us your email and I'll send them!

Oh dear ... I think I see a bit o' rust.

I've seen worse. I know I can deal with all the mechanical resto myself, but the bodywork is something I'll have to get someone else to do. The plan is to get the car done in time for Spridget 50, but I do like to challenge myself!

Interesting hardtop! Looks like you have quite the project there. I'm glad you're bringing her back!

It took me awhile, but I finally saw the rust of which you speak. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Interesting car, but waaaay to rusty for me. It reminds me of an old Fiat 850 I used to own......literally rusted in half.

What are your plans? Is it restorable or is it just a parts car? Just curious.

**EDIT**

Hrmph.....it seems my question was answered before I could hit "send". Good luck on the resto......it really is an interesting car. You will be keeping us updated as you go along.....right??

Pete,
You have a folding roof and a tonneau, you don't need that cumbersome hardtop, mail it to me, and I'll send you my bumpers.....

John, it was the top that sealed the deal. I was fairly sure it was an Ashley heardtop, and a similar one turned up on Ebay a few weeks back that was identical. However, the one on Ebay had an Ashley logo laid into the fibreglass, and I'm yet to find it on mine.
MrSprite, I do indeed plan to keep you guys updated as the resto gets underway.
Baz, if memory serves me right I said I needed new bumpers AND everything in between!! And with the weather over here this "summer" I think it might be the sensible option to keep the hardtop!
I did fire her up to move her for the pics, she normally sits in the gap between the Mini and the mint plants (so she always smells quite nice!) and you'll be impressed to know that all cylinders are firing (although she's got a nasty smoking habit), all the lights work, even the handbrake still works!
I did almost break both my legs getting the passenger side door to open though...

OUCH!! But, Pete, I'd love to have the hardtop! & even if you junk the car, you've still got it!

That last pic REALLY needs this caption:

"All the parts fallen off of this car are of the FINEST British workmanship!"

You're right Pete, the bumpers are in the garage under shelf; between them is a plant pot, empty gas can, wrecked brake master from an MGB, a citronella candle and a mouse trap (empty, sorry). I think it's a good deal.

That is a sad little car. Just think how happy he will be without all that rust. Intresting top on it, good idea for the winter in any case.

Pete, there's a guy who vintage races one of those here in the states, cool car, worth saving.

Pete, I've seen a lot worse than that brought back from the dead.
There was a father and son team in the UK a few years ago that started with a Frogeye that literally had rusted in half. They began by welding up a framework to support both halves in the correct alignment to begin the restoration. The final result was gorgeous.

"Ok, everyone, CLEAR!!! There she goes, she's coming to!" Have a great time restoring her Pete...she looks very promising!!

That's not great but not bad. I had a 69 sprite that bent in half it was so bad.

Went to see a recommended body guy today, seems like anyone who's any good is busy for the next year... anyone know anyone in the UK who could return Rosie's body back to its proper condition (preferably by xmas so I can get her put back together for Spridget50)

No, but if you send me that top, I'll have it painted & put on my '63 in time for our celebration in June....hehehehe

Oh, darn!! It won't work on my '63 - I'll have to put it on my '74!

Good luck finding someone good to do your body work. Here in the states, at least, the really good guys are always a ways out.

How's that saying go: "You can have it quick, low cost, or high quality -- pick any 2."
