Finally buying Alfa Spider parts...

Offline
I ordered a fuel pump and pressure regulator today for my 1984 Alfa. I hope that will get it running again. They said I could pick the parts up tomorrow at Advance.
Fuel pump = $150
Pressure regulator = $50
The smile I'll have when it runs again = Priceless

You need to see if they'll let you open a Level 4 account with tme....its good for a decent discount.....not enough to pay shipping from me though.

How much do you have to buy to qualify for such?

I'm sure my $200 every six months or so doesn't count.

No, Kenny, it doesn't - probably more than tha amount each week!

Hey Kenny,

There's an Alfa Spyder sitting in back of a furniture store here in deepest east Texas. It's free....!!!!! The temptation is very strong, especially since my dear ol' dad would lend me his 1981 Spyder back when and it was a great, but great, driver's car!!!! How is parts availability? Where does one find parts?

We have parts, man!!! I've been pedalin' Alfas for over three decades. Again: the BCF is THE resource... in spite of the ~Italian~ twist. There are still plenty of sources. Go drag it home!!!

Izzit a 2L?

...think "E-Prod" here! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm more a Bertone GTV guy, but under th' skin they're all the same. Drag it home and hide it under a tarp for a bit iff'n ya need to! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Alfa's are long-legged critters, good for the 'Over the River' journeys as well as great commuter cars. Parts aren't a horrible issue, although a bit more 'xpensive than LBC's... primarily because they're NOT made in Tiawan, IYSWIM. If you need any 'clarification' just PM me with any questions.

Their still cheaper on parts than a new domestic car.

Ohhhh my very own "SWMBO" is going to murder me.....we're out of garage space and I'm storing the '58 A in a very kind neighbor's back yard. But.....life is short and Alfa's are very cool, and it's in real need of rescue and resto. It would be a noble deed, yes?

My best memory of the Alfa back in the early 80's was at 2 am blasting down park road 22 on Padre Island in Corpus Christi with a pre-SWMBO. The top was down, the foot all the way to the floor and that beautiful twin ohc four was giving its all. It's amazing how that long, straight two lane asphalt road, smooth at 60 mph, became markedly bumpy at whatever the top speed of a Spyder with stage 2 or 3 tuning will do. I suspect that bad speed hygiene was the reason that the pre-SWMBO remained just that. There were fingernail marks on the dash. SWMBO is far more tolerant, bless her.

what year is it?

My current daily driver is a retrofitted 1750cc with Webers and some clean-up in the head, in a '78 Spider. Great cars, Alfas. Seems I can't go more'n a year or two without one no matter how hard I try to NOT have metric and SAE fastener collections. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Besides: I'm a foole for a Weber'd up twin-cam four, every time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
