**Final Interior Combo Choice**

Than was considered at first, but thrown out due to my father and I owning too many cars with tan interior and we wanted something different!

Thursday I will be home from college to help make the final choices on the color combinations! Its really hard deciding what to spend over $3000 on!!

Note,

The customer service at Heritage Trim has been very nice to deal with so far.

IT is nice to be liked....

Its in their own interests for the results to look good, too. A poor product that looks lousy and crappy after-sales service can catch up with a vendor, eventually. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif NO slight meant for this particular vendor AT ALL, just a general observation.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

Just a general comment on interior colors. Black gets very hot sitting in the sun. Tan stays cooler. The one thing a Healey doesn't need is to have any more heat in the interior. So if you're not going to worry about concours color combos, shoot for good looks and comfort.

Tan does go well with the BRG/OEW and the tan top would work as well...

Tomorrow is our last day to decide on colors before the 25% off sale is over. Wish us luck, its going to be a grueling day.

Nice color choice. You might consider black with white piping?

Well I've had a disscusion with my father and the results are:

Paint the coves white and go with Grey seats with BRG piping, dark green wool carpet, and a grey top.

Leave the paint alone and go with an all black interior with Black or BRG piping, with a black top.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif Well David, it's your car, or your Dad's car, either way you make up your own mind. I know you probably aren't thinking you'll ever sell the car, but believe me, someday you will. In that case, consider this; more people like LBC with black interiors and black tops/tonneau's than any other color. It just says "British" when going down the road. Check out the attached photo above.

Just so you know...there are Austin Healey color-combo police out there who will impound any incorrect Austin Healeys they encounter. They will charge you a huge fine $$$ and make you promise (in writing) to repaint your car before releasing it. Don't let this happen to you. Listen to your friends. You've been warned.

Hey Nevets!, do they inspect and control the interiors too??.---Keoke-- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Hey David K, WELL?!? I'm sure the sale is over, how'd you spend the money???

Grey seats with grey piping
Dark Green Wilton Wool carpets
Grey Panels, door caps, console, and armrest
Grey boot cover
Grey top

We may decide to paint the coves BRG once the interior is installed.

The Healey police can stick there noses somewhere dark and smelly for all I care. Why stick to what others tell you to do! I will certainly enjoy this car more in that I got to choose what colors it was trimmed in. I'm not ruling out changing the coves to BRG /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

My sentiments too.

If the car was uniquely historic there might be a case for maintaining strict originality.

I feel as long as the colors are compatible with what Healey offered and with what comparable British cars of the times wore then there's very little to criticize....

If you're happy with it, I'm happy for you. I think it might be a bit busy with the white coves and the gray top. But, if you're wearing the "Healey grin" when you're driving it, that's all that matters.

Hope you guys don't mind but I edited the subject line to reduce the number of ***** so the subject can be more fully read in the topics list. Also, **** don't work very well in the search engine. - Basil
