figuring out worth of a 76 B...?

Going to clean out part of the garage and the 76 B project is going to go. Tried to figure out the value of it and prices seem to be all over so i'm getting confused.
One of my old school friend bought it in 84 and started taking it apart the first month then it went to the back of the garage. Talked to him back in 94 and his wife wanted the grey shelf out!! so I bought it. Time To get the shelf out of my garage. I'm not going to sell "parts" but I do have an extra engine and trans.

Needs interior, top, miner body work and front bumper had something heavey layed on top so i'd say front bumper and paint, also one door has the crack happening by the vent window.

Thanks for any help

Tony

When I figure out a price i'll post it in your classifieds.
Its a good project I just don't have the time for it now..or when I bought it /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Pictures would help place a value...it's hard to do any type of an appraisal "sight unseen".

A car in boxes is not worth as much as a running example of the same model and year...

Also an RB car is not worth as much as a CB car.

I'll post some pics tomarrow... brought the camera to the computer but the cord is at the other house. Just another normal day...

You could always keep it and stick around for awhile. We'll have it running for you in no time flat.

The extra engine is a pre-68 & the box with the dual carbs probably goes with it (though they'd be great for a conversion for the Zenith Stromberg (though it looks pretty unmolested)....wiring harness & engine compartment look pretty good...if its been sitting all those years in just primer & there are no bubbles or rust showing, its a pretty good chance there's little rust...needs the 'magnet check' though...those seats are not correct for a late model car so its probably a '73-'76 car.

If you're looking for a project, it might be a good foundation...but, its in pieces so you don't know what you'll find - or what's missing! I wouldn't pay more than $750 (at the very most)!

What's the VIN number? You can tell the year by the letter immediately preceding the last series of 6 numbers.

ie - GHN5UGxxxxxxX would be a 1976 as indicated by the SECOND "G".

I ***believe*** that "G" is 1976.

The front wings are from a rubber bumpered MGB...plus in the engine compartment, the little yellow box (service indicator) was only used in 1975-76...so I would place my money on 1976

Tony is spot on with his comments and I concur with his evaluation...and YES.....you should THINK ABOUT KEEPING it!

It looks like a great starting point.

VIN is GHN5UG397018G it has 30k on the clock.

Silly question whats an engin/carbs worth and the spare trans? i've done the internet search/ebay no real answeres.

If you need engine# or trans# i'll getthem latter not home right now. put a few new pics on the other link.

Thanks
Tony

Non O/D transmissions are a dime a dozen. Take $25 and be happy your garage floor space has emptied out.

The carbs and manifold...perhaps $50 to $100.

Engine...$100 to $250. (Is this the engine with 30k on it?)

I bought a complete engine with O/D transmission for $500 last year...that engine had a new clutch installed; had 40k on the clock; and included all of the ancillaries.

Others can chime in here...
