A few more hours and we get hit!

Good luck, keep your head down and stay safe!

Gotta keep tabs on this. Looks like it is headed towards my parents in Mexico.

Where in Mexico do they live?

Puerto Escondido.

Mexico's hidden beach - do they live there year-round? Reason I ask is we've looked at different places for a place to stay for about a month while I immerse myself into the language & am wondering about prices....have been looking at the interior around Lake Chappala.

Last year they bought a small piece of land not far from the beach. Sold everything they had here 7 moved down there in March to start building a house. They told me this morning the contractors are telling them they can move in, in about 27 days. The stairs at the bottom of the pic are into the pool.

What sorta price for real estate down there?

Cheap but you really don't own it. You buy it, but the Gov't owns it. Not exactly sure how it works but this is what I am told. There are a ton of Americans buying property & building houses there. Too risky for me at this stage of my life.

Lets see. From about to get hit with a storm to buying a house in Mexico. Interesting thread line.

Sounds good to me.... You really don't own property here either. If you don't believe me, just try not paying your taxes for a few years.
Hope the storm misses them.

I understand it's illegal for non-citizens to own land (at least in certain areas) in Mexico. There's probably some kind of long term lease deal they get into rather than actual ownership.

Not much outta the ordinary, tho.

Keep yer head down, Bruce and keep us informed. ~hunker down~!

Looks like it skirted you, bruce.....

It did indeed. Just a lot of rain and some wind reversals.

Thanks

Bruce
