Feels good to be back at it

So after I got home I did the following activities:

* Shoveled/ran snow blower for 1.5 hours to clear driveway and walk
* Ate quick dinner
* Replaced shear pin on snowblower, snapped due to the wet, heavy snow
* Checked tire pressures on both daily drivers
* Checked washer fluid
* Replaced rear wiper on wife's truck, which requires removal of the spare tire

Now why was this a significant evening? Because I did it standing up and walking without a crutch! :banana:

I'm happy to say that I'm officially off the crutches now, and have been for about a week. It's been about 2.5 months since I broke the ankle, and it sure is nice to be mobile, if slowly and stiffly. Still in physical therapy, and figure I will be for a little while longer at least.

I was also surprised (a bit) by how nice it was to be back at the tools after nearly 3 months off. I was even eyeing the BMW /5 in the corner, and thinking of getting to work on it a bit after Christmas. I've got a 4-day weekend over New Years and no gig this year, so maybe a few hours in the garage would be good therapy.

Welcome back! Take it slow.

Good for you Drew.
Always nice to be back isn't it.
Just don't overdo it, (sound like a Dad don't I)

Merry Christmas young man.

Dave :cheers:

Glad you're getting back to your old self...

Excellent! Glad you're (almost) back to normal!

Normal? Normal! If he was normal he wouldn't be on this board! :jester:

(But glad your walking unaided again!)

Good news!

The stiffness will abate. Good thing you're young, too. :wink:

...oh... BTW, th' sitffness will return later. Sometime around 60-ish. :jester: :devilgrin:

I am expecting this. Luckily I've got a while before 60ish rolls around. :smile:

It's going to be a quiet slow winter for me, but that's alright. Giving the ankle plenty of time to heal up before summer rolls around and I really want to be out there playing.

Drew, Glad to see your getting your Foot back in the door.

Drew,

Good to hear - it'll make your Christmas a lot nicer.
And who are these normal people I keep hearing about?And
why would I want to be like them?

- Doug
