What's the difference between the workstation and server software? PJ

Pretty much what the names imply. Server hosts Web sites or other content (databases) remotely from a dark room. Workstation is more content creation or consumption. I think workstation is what you'd want.

Thanks Greg, I ordered a workstation disk rather than download the program. Both 32 and 64 bit. PJ

Server doesn't have a nice shiny GUI to play on, either. All ya get is a command prompt. Workstation is indeed what you want unless you are familiar with runlevels and GUI installation. I recently stuffed Fedora 22 workstation on an older HP lappy, it will now stream videos with only 1G ram. With XP it would pause a streaming vid to spool up with annoying frequency. This was for a pal wanting to watch on-line Netflix. We learned there is a Chrome web browser for running Netflix, because Netflix will NOT run in Firefox on Linux... the politics of the Internet.

GAH. I could have sent you a DVD, Paul. I keep the .iso files on my server.

Doc, I'd happily take a disc if you are offering.

Thanks for the offer Doc, appreciate the gesture, the ordered disk should be here today. PJ

Right church, wrong pew! Actually, I always liked the Fedora hats. Seems like the only ones who wears them now are the men in Black! :highly_amused:
