Member CDK was writing about Bonneville in the big Healey forum and I remembered that I had this page bookmarked.
This is apparently the worlds fastest MG.....driven by Phill Hill in 1957 at Bonneville, it still holds the record for it's class (I guess they didn't wear Nomex back then). Recorded speed was 254.9 MPH.

One interesting fact about that EX.181 speed record is that Stirling Moss was Hill's co-driver, but could only get a top speed run of 245.64 mph. Speed vs. finesse--and,in a straight line, speed wins every time.

I got some advertising bumf through the post from MG a few days ago. One section was plugging part of the extreme engine development for the new SV sports car. MG were at Bonneville testing what they called 'extreme engine development' by putting a 765BHP Roush V8 engine in a (much modified) MG ZT-T saloon. They have tested it to 175mph and expect to attain 220mph.
