I've been vainly trying to get the idle speed on my car below 1200 rpm.
I've tried removing the carbs and centring the throttle plates; i've also cleaned and checked the doohickeys on the side of the carbs.
I can get it to slow down to a nice 800 rpm by taking it out of gear and kicking the throttle so the plates close more forcefully on their springs, which leads me to believe the throttle shafts are binding somehow.
There does not seem to be any noticable wear on the throttle shafts or the carb where they pass through.
Anyone got any bright ideas?
