Like many folks here, I love Fall because among other things, it means CAR SHOW TIME!

My LBC is registered in three car shows:

Sept. 19 = Classics on the Green (Central VA British Car Club), New Kent Winery, New Kent, VA.

Oct. 2 = Shenandoah Valley British Car Club show, Waynesboro, VA.

Oct. 10 = Hunt Country Classic car show (MG Car Club of Washington, DC), Haymarket, VA.

Being a lifetime gearhead and British car enthusiast, it doesn't get any better than these great shows. The two in October usually occur when the leaves are changing here in old Virginia. The Waynesboro show is at the foot of the Blue Ridge Parkway, in a lovely park setting. The Hunt Country Classic is held in the VA horse country on an 18th century estate, and it is beautiful.

A crisp, fall morning. A lovely, country road trip to the shows in the roadster with the top down. Among friends who share my passion for these cars.

If you have an LBC, join your local car club, become involved, make some frieinds. Preserve the marque. You won't regret it.

Does it get any better?

Heck, up here in hinterland we're winding down our car show season, the last big one will be at the end of September... Where if it's good weather day well over 1,000 classic cars of all sorts will swamp a rather small town just south of Calgary...

Then the countdown to winter will begin...

July and August are the months where the majority of car shows happen here

September 19 Bronte, Oakville Ontario, largest LBC show in the country.

I'm glad that the Hunt Country show is still on, now that Bill Scott has passed. Always liked that show.

I'll be at NJ Motorsports Park in two weeks and we're having a British Car show on Saturday, Sept 25 (along with vintage car races and an airshow).

NJMP is about 40 minutes south of Atlantic City in Millville, NJ

Info below:

Car Show: The British Invasion, Saturday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in the Lightning paddock. Organized by British Motor Club of Southern New Jersey, Ted Lane, 856-691-6631 or www.bmcsnj.org

The big Cape Cod British Car Club event is this October 10th, which is in fact the 10th anniversary of the British Legends Weekend. It will be held on 10-10-10 and it's the tenth, so 10-10-10-10.

Here is a link to the event. British Legends 10th Anniversary

The driving around the back roads of Cape Cod is spectacular in itself and the show is always a great one on Sunday at the Marine Park in Falmouth. Tons of cars and really great people.

First show for the TR8. That's why the seats are getting re-padded right now.

We'll do the spring shows with both cars. I get the TR6 and she gets the TR8.

No discussion, instructions have been already laid out.

Today's drive to vote and dinner topic was making sure that I get the seats back in by the weekend in case she wants to take it out for a while.

My goal was to find new countersunk Allen head cap screws to replace the Torx cap screws holding the seat frame in place. Oddly enough, they seem to be a nice 5/16" X 20 thread, as the 18 and 24 are no good and the metric isn't even close. I can use the Torx, but using an Allen is easier.

Luckily there's a huge fastener supplier not far from me that I can drive over to with a sample.

Paul, you'll find a mix of Met. and Inch thread on these cars. What you won't find much of is fine thread
