My sis in Florida learned about an emergency where I was standing in LA from FB before neighbors and LE could tell the folks involved it was happening.

It may have a use but you'd have to be glued to it.

That being said, I wouldn't buy it at any price.

One of the best things of our vacation place is no wifi, and only a few basic cable channels.
 
My iPhone is a necessary tool, not just for my regular job as an Analyst, but for keeping tabs on this place! With my iPhone, I can even approve a new member's registration while I'm "otherwise occupied" if I'm not being too subtile. :cowboy:

I use facebook to keep up with people I haven't seen since high school, and don't care about enough to keep in touch in real life.
