Facebook Privacy?

That's why I'm not on it!
Never have, never will.

My sister in law spends a quarter of her time putting every minute detail of her private life out there on facebook.I just don't get the fascination of sharing all of this "private" information with a small circle of 400 "friends".

I was cajoled into Facebook a year or so ago by some friends. Dropped it a month or two back, but in the end was somewhat forced back on. It's the only spot I get to see pictures of my nieces, so I do keep plugged in there.

I only use the iPhone app which keeps the issue separate from my regular browser. Facebook annoys me a great deal with their security concept -- always keep in mind that if you're not paying for something you're not the customer.

It's a shame, really, as the basic feature of being able to post once and have all your friends and family see things is really quite handy -- if in fact you're only sharing that with your real friends and family. Ah well.

Then again, even I'm really to old to be Facebook's target demographic.

Shhhhh - supposed to be Seekret!@

I can't imagine anyone being interested in the day to day activities of my life. Some days I'm not even interested...

The rule used to be "Don't put anything in writing that you don't want read back to you in court." Now it's "Don't even click on anything you don't want the world to see."

I do facebook as it is a way of keeping in the know with my friends who scattered all over the USA and beyond. Get to see photos and day to day life. I also have privatized my settings so that not just anyone can be a part of my circle. I also don't post what I am going to do, only what I've done. Also as Mike says, I can't imagine anyone being interested in my life. It is rather mundane.

There's about TWO folk on here who know my FB account. Twice to three times that number have a contact by 'phone.

...oh bother...

I forgot about Pete.
