i understand why premium dealers want SUV's from a marketting point of view though I still don't get it.

Next thing you know, they'll start putting in those new fangled audey madik transmissions ...

Yeah, starting to see the F-Pace popping up around here, too. And the Maserati Levante as well.

As much as I hate the idea, I can't blame the companies for selling people what they want. And at least they aren't as fugly as some other companies' offerings.

Porsche probably wouldn't even exist anymore if it weren't for the Cayenne. It's been a huge seller for them and basically saved the company from extinction. It's the curse we endure in order to have 911's, Caymans and Boxters.

I still remember as a kid, the disappointment peering into a XK140 fhc and seeing that it was an automatic.

Yep, they did make 140s in Auto. My 120 was a 4-speed Moss crash box.

omigosh - that is one of the coolest cars I've ever seen. And I've been seeing since the Beginning of Time!

Here are a couple other pics. When I bought the car it had no dash at all and all the wiring had to be replaced 100% A friend had an extra dash which I used as a pattern to make a new dash from scratch. Obviously the two-tone paint was non-standard as were the matching two-tone seats.
