Made ya look! Hahahaha! Ok, sorry no cars in this one. but I do have a bit of a shamless plug for a very good friend of mine, by sharing some pics I took at his Western art gallery last week. I've admired his work for years. He does some excellent serious art, and a lot of stuff that shows his warped sense of humor as well.(can you see why we're friends?).
Enjoy

You clearly haven't heard of Kent Monkman, so I've never met him but he is a rather interesting artist, look him up...

These pieces are by my friend Travis "Cougar" Johnson. Hes done paintings and cartooning, sculpture and all kinds of other creative things I don't know what to call. I've known him through the living history camps I've gone to my whole life. He's a wonderful person to be with, and I always look forward to hanging out. He also has written some funny songs that have become camp standards.
I went to visit him last week, and got to see his small studio. It's amazing! He's way off the beaten path in a tiny town just south of Jamestown N.Y. called Frewsburg. I tried to look him up on the net, and came up empty handed. So I told him I'd post some of his paintings on the sites I'm on. I wanted to show some folks some of what this totally unknown artist has hiding. I don't believe he has any kind of formal training. He's a retired factory worker, and this is just what he's done since he was a kid ignoring his teachers in class.
I'm not gaining anything financially from this, I'd just like to see others enjoy what I've known about for all this time.
Kent's pretty interesting. I bet Travis knows about his work. He gets to a lot of museums and art shows.

There are many unknown artists, I'd say most of them are, very few artists become famous... I'm quite active in the local arts scene and get to meet all sorts of artists, sometimes a few famous ones even...

I would very much agree with you there. Musicians fall in there too.
