TR5/TR250 Extra gaskets

Why is there always two gaskets for the front engine plate to the block supplied in the lower end kits? I can only find one location for the gaskets. One is very thin and the other is a little thicker. I have used the thick one, where does the extra one go other than on the shelf?

Actually your note just made my day, I have a gasket hanging from peg on my workbench and I wondered if I forgot to put one on when I reassembled the motor.

This is pure speculation, but there is a spec. for the end float of the camshaft. At the time I put the motor back together I noticed it was a little tight when I put the end plate that holds the cam in on. Maybe the gaskets are to allow adjustment of the float.

2nd theory I just thought of. Maybe a generic kit and one is for the TR6 motor and one for the GT6 block?
