Experience with new key lock barrels ???

The last two cars I have fiinished both required new lock barrels for different reasons. IE: the mini was so loose, any key or thin screwdriver would allow you to start the car. But the lock barrel did function correctly when turned from on to start. The last two new lock barrels work correctly about 80% of the time but don't always connect to the start postion. You can see the lights dim as it it was in the start position but no turn over. Same with my TR3. So I bought a new ignition switch assembly for the TR3 and no more problems. I now seem to need the switch assembly for the mini. Is any one else having this problem and did you come up with a solution?

thanks

Jerry
