'67Etype, the original brass radiator expansion tank looks a mess and has some tiny fizzes around the solder line so time for 2nd rebuild, about $100? an aluminum new one $380 or a steel one $180. any thoughts on steel and corrosion?
Thanks, Jay

Stick with the brass. Less problems all around unless you go with stainless.

Concur, as long as the brass isn't failing. Expansion and contraction, they will develop cracks. Solder will fix them for a while....but eventually they are toast.
First one I ever ran into that was that way was on a 1959 Ford......but seen a lot more since.
A good radiator shop should be able to open yours up and know what they are looking at, as to whether it is salvageable.
