MGB-GT Exhaust system options 70 MGB-GT?

My car's recent backfiring experiences have caused me to start looking for some exhaust pieces.
I got a new downpipe from Tony last year, and that piece is great but the rest from there to the back is very rusty and thin.

What's the best and least expensive solution?
I'm not looking for anything sporty & shiny, just something that will do the job.

I used to have one of those Italian exhausts on my B with the glasspac in the middle.

Now I have a stock system, less headaches.

Literaly.

I don't use stainless, as the roads here will rip a mild steel system to shreds before it rusts.

Least expensive? Go down to your local uffler shop & have them make you a system using a couple of 'cherry bombs' & some pipe....I can get that type system built on my cars around here for less than $100.

I've got some of the OE stuff in stock & can get the rest if you decide to go that route....but, I'd check locally first.

Thanks guys, I googled and found this Pacesetter Monza package for $142 shipped.

It's probably better to do as Tony suggested - get it all welded up - if they will do it for $100 I'd be pretty happy.

I've one of the real ones in stock...no where near as pretty since I got it out of a garage where there were lots of new old parts....still in its plastic though.

good price if its made well...beware of Chinese junk knockoffs....have him flip it over & take a photo of the other side before you buy it.

I like the idea of going to the muffler place and getting it all done for $100.
I'm going to try that out, thanks again.

I've got the Monza on the 67 BGT and is has a nice crisp sound. The Peco on the 74B sounds deep and throaty. I like them both but will probably put a Peco on the GT as well. I have most of it but need to locate another Peco header. I'm not getting anything for $100 around here.

I like the stainless Falcon systems, and the latest car has the Big Bore on it. Excellent fit and service, but yeah, for cheap, straight pipe and a can at the muffler shop would be the way to go.
